Dans une communication rendue publique ce jeudi, 21 août 2025, l’Université de Goma, dans l’Est de la RDC, annonce la distinction de son recteur, le Professeur Ordinaire Muhindo Mughanda sélectionné à la deuxième édition des African Academia Awards 2025, organisée par The Business Executive et ses partenaires.
Qualifié de « Bâtisseur »par ses étudiants, le Professeur Ordinaire Muhindo Mughanda a été sélectionné pour ses contributions exceptionnelles au monde académique et à l’impact socio-économique en Afrique. Il a reçu le Prix d’Excellence en Éducation Communautaire et Résilience dans les Régions Affectées par les Conflits en République Démocratique du Congo, indique le service de la communication de l’Unigom.
Au-delà de ce prix, cette distinction reflète également quatre axes majeurs incarnés par les actions du Recteur et de l’Université de Goma, à savoir: l’accès innovant et inclusif à l’éducation, l’adaptation numérique et infrastructurel, l’alignement avec les priorités éducatives africaines, mais aussi le rôle de l’université comme symbole d’espoir et de stabilité dans un contexte fragile (que connait la Province du Nord-Kivu).
Cette reconnaissance constitue une marque de prestige non seulement pour le Professeur Ordinaire Mughanda, mais également pour l’ensemble de la communauté universitaire de Goma, la cérémonie de remise de ce prestigieux prix se tiendra le 5 novembre 2025 au Capital Hotel de Kigali au Rwanda, confirme l’Université qui, à l’occasion rend hommage ce Professeur qui a su transforme cette grande institution Universitaire.
