Dans le cadre du projet « chess in the city », le soga club chess qui est l’une des structures humanitaires oeuvrant à Goma, a organisé un tournoi de jeu d’échecs réunissant deux cents enfants issus de différentes couches sociales à Goma au Nord-Kivu.

Appuyé par différentes structures d’encadrement des enfants(FOCUS CONGO, CONGOLESE LEADERS, CONGOLESE FAMILY FOR JOY), le projet poursuit trois objectifs majeurs qui n’est autre que d’intégrer les échecs dans les camps de déplacés afin d’offrir une activité structurée et engageante pour aider les enfants à développer des compétences en pensées critique et en résolution de problème, dans un premier temps.
Deuxièmement, fournir un sentiment de communauté et d’appartenance, tout en enseignant des compétences de vie précieuses à travers le jeu d’échecs.
Et, en troisième lieu, la vision de « chess in the city » est aussi, de créer des opportunités d’apprentissage et croissance personnelle visant à briser le cycle de violence et à rétablir l’équilibre social.
Ces objectifs poursuivis par soga club chess à travers son programme ont été démontré ce samedi, 19 juillet 2024, sur deux cents enfants ayant pris part au tournoi, quatre ont été récompensés, dont trois entre eux au podium, ont reçu des trophées.

C’est la raison pour laquelle, deux des lauréats dudit tournoi notamment, le premier et le quatrième issue de camp de déplacés, ont reçu l’offre d’un voyage d’expériences à Kinshasa au frais de Moïse KATUMBI. L’intervention du président de l’ensemble pour la République dans ce tournoi a été placée dans le cadre purement humanitaire , c’est-à-dire, KATUMBI agissant comme mécène de la vision humanitaire de l’organisation.
Selon le président de soga club chess « les deux cents enfants sont les prochains acteurs de paix puisqu’ils savent que pour bien-vivre, il faut réfléchir et calculer toutes les valeurs », a indiqué, AKILI BASHIGE LWENDE.

« Nous sommes en train de les former pour faire d’eux , les acteurs de paix dans l’avenir et comme ça, on aura plus ces conflits que nous subissons pour le moment », conclu, le président de soga club chess, en parlant des enfants déplacés puisque, leur situation est particulièrement difficile.
