Avec un accent particulier placé sur l’environnement et le changement climatique, le Programme National de Nutrition (PRONANUT), a lancé ce mercredi 20 août 2025 à Goma, la Campagne de la Semaine Mondiale de l’Allaitement Maternel pour une période de sept jours allant du 18 au 24 août de l’année en cours.
Placée sous le thème : »PRIORISER L’ALLAITEMENT:Créer des Systèmes de soutien durable « , cette campagne vise à mettre en relation les acteurs impliqués à tous les niveaux dans le soutien à l’allaitement, afin de créer des systèmes de soutien solides et durables dans un objectif, de bénéficier non seulement aux familles, mais également, d’impacter de manière significative l’environnement associé à l’allaitement maternel, a indiqué, Monsieur Nandwi Maheshe Pascal, coordonnateur du PRONANUT.
La campagne 2025 met également l’accent sur les objectifs nutritionnels de l’Assemblée mondiale de la santé (AMS) qui, de manière générale, vise entre autres à :
• Réduire de 40% le nombre d’enfants de moins de 5 ans présentant un retard de croissance;
• Réduire de 50% l’anémie chez les femmes en âge de procréer;
• Réduire de 30% l’insuffisance pondérale à la naissance;
• Pas d’augmentation du pourcentage d’enfants en surcharge pondérale;
• Porter les taux d’allaitement exclusif au sein au cours des 6 premiers mois de la vie à au moins 50%;
• Réduire et maintenir au-dessous de 5% l’émaciation chez l’enfant, a-t-il ajouté.
D’après l’expert, l’allaitement maternel présent plusieurs avantages que ça soit au niveau de l’enfant (Nourrisson), de sa mère et même, au niveau de la Communauté.
Pour l’enfant par exemple, un bon allaitement, c’est-à-dire, l’allaitement qui respecte les bonnes pratiques, offre un bon départ dans la vie de chaque enfant grâce un bon développement du cerveau. Mais également, il renforce le système immunitaire contre les maladies
(Malnutrition, diarrhée et maladies respiratoires (IRA), explique l’expert en donnant des recommandations.
Bonnes Pratiques recommandées par PRONANUT
En croire, le Coordonnateur du Programme National de Nutrition, il y a onze pratiques qui doivent être observées par une femme allaitante pour fournir un bon allaitement à un nourrisson, notamment :
• Placer le nourrisson peau contre peau avec la mère immédiatement après la naissance,
• Débuter l’allaitement maternel dans la première heure après la naissance,
• Allaiter exclusivement (Pas d’autres aliments ou liquides) de 0 à 6 mois,
• Allaiter souvent, jour et nuit,
• Allaiter à la demande chaque fois que le bébé demande à être allaité
• Laisser le nourrisson finir un sein et attendre qu’il le lâche avant de passer à l’autre sein,
• Bonne position et bonne prise
• Continuer l’allaitement maternel jusqu’à 2 ans ou plus longtemps
• Continuer l’allaitement maternel quand le nourrisson ou la mère est malade,
• La mère doit manger à sa faim et boire à sa soif,
• Éviter les biberons.
