Les États-Unis ont annoncé avoir mobilisé 13 millions de dollars d’aide d’urgence dans les 48 heures ayant suivi la confirmation de nouveaux cas d’Ebola, le 15 mai 2026.
Dans un communiqué, le Département d’État américain affirme coordonner sa réponse avec plusieurs partenaires internationaux afin d’agir « rapidement et efficacement » contre l’épidémie.
Le communiqué précise également que la République démocratique du Congo et l’Ouganda figurent parmi les pays prioritaires de cette mobilisation. Sur les 1,8 milliard de dollars d’aide annoncés le 14 mai en soutien au Bureau de la coordination des affaires humanitaires des Nations unies (OCHA), environ 250 millions de dollars devraient être destinés à la RDC et à l’Ouganda.
Ces fonds visent à fournir les ressources nécessaires à la réponse humanitaire ainsi qu’à la lutte contre les épidémies dans les deux pays.
