Beni: l’ICCN et l’autorité couturière de Bapakombe s’accordent sur un règlement pacifique du conflit foncier autour du PNVi

Les représentants de l’Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature et l’autorité coutumière du village de Bapakombe en territoire de Beni, au Nord-Kivu ce sont accordés à un dialogue pour le règlement pacifique du conflit foncier au tour du Parc National de Virunga. Cette attente a été trouvée à l’issue d’une réunion tenue ce Mardi 1er avril 2025 entre la coalition FARDC-UPDF et représentants du PNVi. 

Le but étant de clarifier les communautés locales afin de dissiper tout malentendu concernant une attaque des ADF à Mayangose, qui a causé des pertes en vies humaines et matérielles. 

Selon les responsables du PNVi, des rumeurs avaient en effet attribué à tort cette attaque aux patrouilles des écogardes menées du 20 au 21 mars dernier.

Lors de cette rencontre, les forces de sécurité ont souligné que l’ennemi cherche à exploiter le différend entre les agriculteurs de Mayangose et l’ICCN pour renforcer son emprise sur la zone. 

Enquête d’une solution adéquate, un appel a été lancé à la collaboration avec les autorités afin de neutraliser cette menace et permettre une résolution pacifique du conflit foncier.

Pour sa part, le Parc National de Virunga, à travers ses délégués, a réaffirmé sa volonté de dialoguer avec toutes les parties prenantes soulignant que cette question nécessite une décision du gouvernement central.

De son côté, le chef de village Bapakombe a reconnu l’occupation illégale de certaines parcelles et, a insisté sur l’importance du dialogue pour organiser le retrait des agriculteurs concernés.

Dans le cadre des sensibilisations sur les enjeux du Parc National des Virunga, une rencontre s’est tenue le 31 mars 2024 à l’hôtel Vyaka entre les délégués du PNVi, les journalistes et des représentants de la société civile. 

L’objectif de cette dernière était de clarifier certaines informations et de sensibiliser à la nécessité de vérifier les faits concernant l’espace protégé avant toute diffusion. 

Malgré son statut du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, le Parc national de Virunga serait souvent la cible de rumeurs infondées qui, une fois propagées, sèment la confusion sans qu’elles ne soient toutefois démenties par la suite.
