En mission de service à Goma, dans la partie Est de la République Démocratique du Congo depuis jeudi, 12 juin 2025, la représentante spéciale du secrétaire général des Nations-Unies, Madame Bintou Keita, a réaffirmée l’engagement de la MONUSCO dans les processus de Paix du conflit opposant le Gouvernement Congolais au Mouvement révolutionnaire, AFC-M23.
À l’issue de la rencontre organisée ce vendredi, à Goma avec les cadres de l’Alliance Fleuve Congo/Mouvement du 23 Mars, la cheffe de la MONUSCO a déclaré :
Je suis venue à Goma dans un esprit d’écoute et d’échange. Cette visite intervient à un moment critique, dans un contexte de tensions persistantes, et à quelques jours de mon briefing devant le Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies.
Aujourd’hui, j’ai rencontré le leadership de l’Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC/M23). Cette rencontre s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une continuité d’efforts conjoints entamés depuis quelques mois au profit de la population.
Comme vous le savez, avec la facilitation du CICR, du Gouvernement Congolais, de l’AFC /M23 et de la MONUSCO, 1359 éléments des FARDC et de la PNC ont été transférés de Goma à Kinshasa

La MONUSCO reste engagée à appuyer toutes les initiatives susceptibles de favoriser une désescalade des tensions. Les responsables de l’AFC/M23 ont exprimé leur volonté de trouver une solution pacifique à la crise.

Cette rencontre intervient après, celle qu’elle a eu avec le personnel de la MONUSCO, le jour même de son arrivée dans la ville.
D’après sa première déclaration, elle est à Goma, pour écouter et exprimer sa solidarité avec la population civile et le personnel de la MONUSCO, deux groupes auxquels elle a adressé, la reconnaissance d’une résilience remarquable.
Prévu pour trois jours ( jeudi, 12 juin au samedi, 14 juin), madame Bintou Keita, pourra rencontrer certaines organisations civiles de la place, notamment, celles des femmes de Goma, au courant de sa dernière journée dans la Capitale provinciale du Nord-Kivu, a-t-on appris de nos sources.
