Drame sur le lac-Kivu dans la partie Est de la République Démocratique du Congo. Alors qu’il approchait la ville de Goma, le bateau MV MERDI a chaviré à quelques mètres du marché de KITUKU, en Provence de Minova dans le territoire de KALEHE dans le Sud-Kivu, ce jeudi, 03 octobre 2024. C’était aux environs de 10 heures du matin.
Deuxième incident en moins de 24 heures, après le naufrage d’une pirogue à moteur dans la nuit du Mercredi 02 octobre à ce jeudi.

Cette série d’accidents sur Lac-Kivu touche essentiellement les navires en Provence de KALEHE, le seul territoire qui reste la base arrière d’approvisionnement de la ville de Goma en produits de première nécessité depuis l’occupation de Rutshuru, Masisi et le Nyiragongo par le M23.
Situation attribuée au Rwanda par plusieurs personnes qui se sont prononcées au lieu d’intervention.
« Le bateau était en mauvais chargement, il y avait beaucoup de biens et plusieurs personnes parce qu’il n’y a plus d’autres voies de communications qui relient Goma avec le territoire de KALEHE, le Rwanda et ses supplétifs du M23 bloquent les routes », a renseigné un témoin qui assistait l’événement.
Pour l’instant le bilan provisoire fourni par les autorités reste de 23 morts et 58 survivants.
Ce bilan donné par les autorités vient en appui au aux informations recueillis par les militaires de la communauté de développement d’Afrique australe, SADC, qui parlaient déjà d’une quarantaine de survivants seraient secourus et une vingtaine de corps inertes repêchés.

De leur côté les autorités provinciales du Nord-Kivu, ont ordonné aux médecins d’afficher les photos de victimes retrouvées à la porte de la morgue de l’hôpital provincial de référence, 17 cors y seraient regroupés.
Mais également, 47 noms de survivants répartis dans différentes structures sanitaires de la ville de Goma, notamment à l’hôpital 8ème CEPAC KYESHERO, ont été affichés à la porte de la nouvelle Morgue construite en diagonale de la RTNC Goma.
